Read the Bible in One Year Day 207 – Made Right with God

2 Chronicles 17-18 / Romans 9:25-10:13 / Psalm 20 / Proverbs 20:2-3

Salvation, being born again, giving your heart to Jesus Christ, walking the aisle, going to the altar, and any other term one might use to indicate coming into right relationship with God is foundational to the Christian faith.  One cannot call themselves a Christ follower apart from being made right with God through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.  No man comes to the Father, except through Me.” (John 14:6) Jesus is the only doorway or path to right relationship with God.  I understand that many have tried other paths, but ultimately, before one passes from this life to the next, he or she must come face to face with the life of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross.

If it sounds like I’m preaching, I guess I am!  What has me so fired up?  One of the portions of scripture from The Romans Road has me walking down memory lane.

Romans 10:9-13 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.  As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disgraced.”  Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect.  They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.  For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God did not make it difficult to restore our relationship with Him.  The relationship Adam and Eve had in the Garden of Eden with God is what God is restoring to us through Jesus Christ.  For now, sin still interrupts our beautiful fellowship, but one day there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and we will have unbroken connection with the One Who created and loves us.

While I am thankful for and appreciate the relationship I have with God today, I’m looking forward to seeing Him face to face.  I’m looking forward to knowing Him the way He knows me.  I’m looking forward to all the experiences of heaven, the angels, the other saints who have gone before me, the adventures I’ll have jumping galaxies (that is what I plan to do after meeting Jesus!)

Jeff and I joke.  I’m pretty sure our mansions will be side-by-side and he has such a love of food and people that I imagine him sitting on the front porch in his rocker waiting for visitors.  And while I do love food and people, the adventurer in me can’t wait to explore EVERYTHING!  I’m going to the throne room, I’m going to the heavenly temple, the crystal sea, the planets, the galaxies…  I want to travel!  I want to explore.  And when I’ve traveled and explored, I’ll come back to sit on the porch with Jeff and share what I saw.  LOL

While I don’t know what heaven will be like, I do know I will never be bored.  Worship, fellowship, food, exploration…  it’s gonna be amazing!  And all of that is my inheritance because I said, “Yes” to the sacrifice Jesus made on my behalf.

I understand that some will say, “No.”  That makes me unbearably sad.  I can’t imagine spending eternity apart from God with His love and light.  So, if you have not before, please consider those verses from Romans.  Consider that they might just be Truth.  Pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you.  If you say, “Yes” let me know.  Then, I look forward to seeing you on one of my adventures in heaven!
