Genesis 41:17-42 / Matthew 13:24-46 / Psalm 18:1-15 / Proverbs 4:1-6
The parable of the wheat and the weeds is being played out in the earth today. Both the wheat and the weeds have been planted together and the Lord is separating the two, proving who belongs to Him and who does not. And this is no bedtime story; this is stark truth.
“Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds! Where did they come from?”
“An enemy has done this!” the farmer exclaimed.
“Should we pull out the weeds?” they asked.
“No,” he replied, “you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds, tie them into bundles, and burn them, and to put the wheat in the barn.”
A friend and I started a YouTube Channel called Wheat or Chaff, and we are ever aware that God is highlighting His people, His Church, His Remnant in this season in history. I’m sure you’re also aware of this. (to watch Wheat or Chaff, scroll to the bottom of my website and click the link!)
If you continue reading in Matthew, you’ll see who the wheat are and who the weeds are. I exhort you to find yourself in the camp of the wheat. If you don’t know how to do that or be sure, please send me an e-mail and we’ll talk.
I want to end with Psalm 18:1-3.
I love you, LORD; you are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the LORD< who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.
The people of God will not be shaken.
