Genesis 28-29 / Matthew 9:18-38 / Psalm 11 / Proverbs 3:11-12
In Matthew verses 23-25 we see Jesus going to visit a young girl who has died, and I love his bold response. He had knowledge that those in the house did not have; namely, that God was going to give this young girl her life again.
And that is just what Jesus did for us. Jesus said the girl was not dead but sleeping. We may be dead in our sins, but if we hear the voice of Christ, He will rescue us from the wages of sin, which are death.
For the believer, there is no death. We leave life here and enter into life with our Creator and Father. I remember when my dad died in 2016, the grief was overwhelming, but God gave me a revelation that helped so much and I’ve clung to that. He shared with me that my daddy didn’t die (at least not according to the way the world understands). No. My daddy went from life on earth to life with Jesus Christ.
As we mourn the loss of our future son-in-law, I remember Jesus’s words to me and say, Bradley did not die – he passed from life on earth to life in the arms of his Heavenly Father. What beauty he is seeing now!
Psalm 11:1 In the LORD I take refuge.
