Read the Bible in One Year Day 203 – What to Do when Words Hurt

2 Chronicles 6:12-8:10 / Romans 7:14-8:8 / Psalm 18:1-15 / Proverbs 19:24-25

The strongest of people are sometimes tired.  Warriors need rest just like anyone else.  Then again, if we’re in Christ, we’re all warriors at one time or another.  If you find yourself in a battle, remember your armor – the belt of Truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of Faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.  (Ephesians 6:14-17)

Remember your armor, remember to pray, remember to keep your eyes on Jesus Christ the Commander of the Host of Heaven, and remember you are not wrestling against people, but against evil forces.  It is the LORD who enables us to stand.  It is the LORD who rescues and protects us.

In times when I feel someone is trying to whip my butt, I love reading passages like Psalm 18:1-3I love you, LORD; you are my strength.  The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.  I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.

There you have it.  When you feel you’re up against something bigger than you, remember the LORD is your strength and place of safety.  If there’s a storm around you, hide in Him.  If the words of others are assaulting you, put Him on as a shield.

It would be nice to think we’ll never have trouble, but it’s not reality.  John 16:33 tells us – I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world!

You just gotta know where to “hide” and how to “fight”.  Our hiding place is Him and our greatest weapon is love.  Remember 1 Corinthians 13:13 TPT Above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.

If I’m running for love, all fear is gone.  If I’m running for love, I cannot be or stay offended – that means I must immediately forgive in each situation that arises.  If I’m running for love – I win, you win, and we win!
