Jeremiah 49:23-50:46 / Titus 1/ Psalm 97-98 / Proverbs 26:13-16
The parallel realm of the Spirit is not a quiet place. I can think of one place in scripture where it says there was silence in heaven. Revelation 8:1 The Passion Translation (TPT): “When the Lamb broke open the seventh seal, heaven fell silent for about half an hour.” What followed was terrifying. Maybe that’s why all heaven was silent; they knew what was about to happen.
But for now, while we’re in the season prior to the terrible day of the Lord, there are sounds all around us that we only hear with Spirit ears. Psalm 98:7-9 tells us this: “Let the ocean’s waves join in the chorus with their roaring praise until everyone everywhere shouts out in unison, ‘Glory to the Lord!’ Let the rivers and streams clap with applause as the mountains rise in a standing ovation to join the mighty choir of exaltation. Look! Here he comes! The Lord and judge of all the earth! He’s coming to make things right and to do it fair and square. And everyone will see that he does all things well!” (TPT)
I don’t know about you, but when I read those verses, I hear all the sounds mentioned. I don’t hear with my natural ears, but my spiritual ears hear, and I understand a small portion of the beauty of these sounds. Imagine oceans roaring in praise, or rivers and streams clapping as mountains rise in a standing ovation.
Luke 19:40 tells us that “Stones would break forth with praises!” (TPT) That causes me to wonder what else in creation is making a sound of worship and praise to the One who created all these things. Each created thing understands the Creator because the essence of the Creator is within each of those things. His power, love, eternal nature, and many other aspects of His character are present in the molecules of nature causing it to be alive and “noisy”.
When God spoke, the power of His word not only created all we see and don’t see but it also embedded in all things the energy of God. If you’re a science lover, you know that all of creation is made up of atomic and subatomic particles. The particles we can’t see are atoms and are made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. These are not even the smallest particles. There are quantum particles that are even smaller. But they all have in common one thing: energy.
There would be no energy in the world apart from God. Our bodies “run” on energy. If we had no energy, our bodies would not operate. When scientists discovered this energy, some did not realize the source of all the energy in the universe is the Lord who created it all. Hebrews 1:3 mid-verse says, “He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of His spoken word.” (TPT) That power is the energy man has harnessed for our use.
When we get to heaven, I believe our minds will be blown away to discover all the things we haven’t known or seen. As vast and powerful as God is, I have a feeling we’ve only scratched the surface of the things He created for us to discover. And make no mistake, man does not create new things, he uncovers and discovers the hidden mysteries God has placed for him to find.
There are mysteries everywhere and the praise of the creation is just one of those beautiful mysteries. So, the next time you’re enjoying nature’s beauty, remember that all you see is singing, clapping, and worshiping God. Be careful not to allow nature to praise more or better than you do!
