Read the Bible in One Year Day 317 – My Faith in Action

Ezekiel 27-28 / Hebrews 11:17-31 / Psalm 111 / Proverbs 27:15-16

Yesterday we talked about faith. Today we’re going to talk a little more about faith, so maybe we’ll call this post Faith, Part 2. Since faith is so foundational to all we are and all we do as the people of God, I believe two days of discussion are valuable for this topic. Yesterday, I mentioned to you from James 2:20b that: “Faith without works is dead.” King James Version (KJV). I want to talk more about this aspect of faith today.

Even before I read Hebrews 11 in theNew International Version (NIV), Holy Spirit brought a fascinating thought to my mind. He said to me, “Watch what happens as you read. Each person will be said to have faith, and each statement of faith will be followed by something they did.” My mind started racing as I read.

I want to go over with you the list of what each person named did in response to the fact that they believed what God had said.

  • Abraham believed God, so he offered his son Isaac.
  • Isaac believed God, so he promised blessings for his sons Jacob and Esau.
  • Jacob believed God, so he blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff.
  • Joseph believed God, so he told the people of God they would leave Egypt and he commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.
  • Moses’ parents believed God, so they hid him for three months when he was born.
  • Moses believed God, so he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
  • Moses believed God again, so he left the land of Egypt.
  • Moses believed God again, so he commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover.
  • The people of Israel believed God, so they went right through the Red Sea.
  • The people of Israel believed God again, so they marched around Jericho for seven days, and the walls came crashing down.
  • Rahab believed God, so she gave a friendly welcome to the spies.

We can no longer deny that believing God is followed by an action of some kind. So, I must ask, what are you believing God for? What are you doing about what you believe?

I am believing God for an increase in my business with Still the Mom, so I have remodeled my office to match the measure He is speaking to me in the Spirit. My office is beyond my wildest dreams; it’s so beautiful!

I have a new desk (still waiting for my new window to be delivered, giving more light to my space), space for my books (I love to read), an area for all my art projects (I am an artist), and my office has many beautiful spaces from which to shoot pictures and video so I can bring you the messages God puts on my heart.

I believe God has called me to this business. I believe God has spoken prosperity over my family in this season, so I am preparing to receive what God has spoken. I want to encourage you to hear God, dream big, and then plan and prepare for Him to pour Himself out in abundance over you, your family, your business, your ministry, or any other area He shows you!

Have faith: believe God: take action!
