Read the Bible in One Year Day 365 – We Will See His Face

Malachi 3-4 / Revelation 22 / Psalm 150 / Proverbs 31:25-31

Let’s first acknowledge that this post is the final one for the year. This devotional compilation was originally written in the year of our Lord 2021, but whenever you read it, you will find relevance for your walk with Jesus Christ. That is because the Word of the Lord stands firm forever (1 Peter 1:25). God’s Word will always be beneficial to your life and will bring answers to the questions you have. You may not find specific answers, but you will find a principle that aligns with God’s love and justice.

As I finished reading the Bible today, I was struck with the majesty, strength, and beauty that was being described in each entry. Malachi spoke of the day of judgment. Revelation spoke of the coming of the Lord and what we will experience in heaven as God’s beloved people. Psalm 150 was filled with praise and noisy celebration. And Proverbs praised the value of a godly woman.

With a full heart, I must say the thing I most look forward to is seeing Jesus Christ face to face. Revelation 22:4 in the New Living Translation, (NLT) says, “And they will see His face, and His name will be written on their foreheads.” Isn’t that why we are faithfully following God’s Words? Isn’t that why we hopefully worship Him? There is a culmination coming, whether in our lifetime or after we’ve moved to heaven. At some point, we will see and touch our Reward.

As I’ve stated several times over the past year, our Reward is a Person. Truth is a Person. Our Armor is a Person. None of the things we have read were received in a vacuum; they are all tangible and real. Some read the Bible as if it were a fairy tale, or as if it is history in the long distant past, as though the people involved couldn’t have been real.

The people were real, our God is real, the facts as they were recorded are real and our hope for the future and eternity with Father God is real. The things we’ve read and studied are more than concepts on a page. The things we’ve read about are the things we have been and also will one day experience.

So, as we close out this year and as we look with expectation toward the next year, let’s remember the Words we’ve taken into our souls. Let’s allow Holy Spirit to cause these Words to come alive and to refresh, build and encourage us. And, as you’ve been refreshed, look for ways to be a blessing and refreshment to others God brings into your path.

I wish you a beautiful, strong, and prosperous new year. May you see Him in ways you never have, and may you experience all He has planned for you. Commit to tithe your time to Him this year, not just your money. There are twenty-four hours in a day. How might you set aside time just for Him? I’m going into the new year with a renewed commitment to sit at His feet and listen. Will you join me?
