Exodus 23:14-25:40 / Matthew 24:29-51 / Psalm 30 / Proverbs 7:24-27
Reading Matthew reminds me of a song I used to love so much! It’s called People Get Ready by Crystal Lewis, and it speaks a message that I’ve waited for all my life – the return of Jesus Christ to gather His people from the earth. Here are the lyrics…
Lord, I’m ready now; I’m waiting for your triumphant return. You’re coming soon. This world has nothing for me; I find my peace and joy solely in You. Only in You
I want the world to see that You’re alive and living well in me. Let me be a part of the harvest for the days are few. You’re coming soon!
People get ready, Jesus is coming; soon we’ll be going home. People get ready, Jesus is coming to take from the world His own. People get ready, Jesus is coming; soon we’ll be going home. People get ready, Jesus is coming; to take from the world His own. We’ll be going home
Then the day will come when we will be divided right and left. For those who know Him, and those who do not know. Those who know Him well will meet Him in the air. Hallelujah, God is with us.
Those who do not know; they will hear, “Depart; I knew you not.”
For my friends, you see, there will be a day when we’ll be counted. So, know Him well; know Him well!
People get ready!
Even typing those words now, and listening to this song from years ago, causes such a fire of love to burn in my heart that I want to jump out of my skin and see His face today! I can’t explain the longing I feel to finally see the One who created me face to face. To know Him as He knows me.
Do you feel that same longing of heart? If not, all you have to do is tell Him, “I want that!” He’ll meet you right there.
